  1. COMMENTS BY GROUP 03:

Taking into account the presentation in general terms we think that it has been a very good researching of information and that the speaker has been relaxed and tried to explain everything and even, tried to add a bit of humor, what is a very possitive point.
Nevertheless, they have been too specific in some aspects and didn’t give us a general visual idea of how the Project of The New Cortijo will be.That’s why we recommend taking a look at the page os Pladur’s last winners:

    1. COMMENTS ABOUT ORAL PRESENTATION

The speaker was a bit nervous and he was stuttering sometimes, but his vocabulary was technical and appropriate to explain in correct terms his idea. The speaker was reading the text instead of looking to the audience what is a good point to start improving. We could understand clearly all the project but we will show them this video whose speaker connects very well with the audience.

    2. COMMENTS ABOUT THE PROJECT

There is a lack of a 3D or a general image of the project in relationship with the Cortijo, but as we can see on the plans the difference between where the “opaque” and the “transparent” façades will be. They have searched great information about interesting glass curtain wall but have missed the sun shading, which is a real problem in Alrmería. We recommed them to look for more information and study about it.
It whould be so positive if they tried to express the real connection between the new project and its materials with the cortijo and think if they have put too many details os carpentry that don’t fit with their real project. Looking for last Pladur contest winners ir a really good idea:

    3. COMMENTS ABOUT THE FAÇADE

The selected opaque façade system consist in a load-bearing façade built by CLT panels which is a well-selected system but we can’t see how does the new building connects to the old part of the Cortijo. As we see a bit lack of details we hope that this technical catalogue of KLH helps you to carry on this work.

The transparent façade is properly described by the architectonical details, and there is a very good research about how it works, but if they show how it fits into their own “project” or “volume” it would be almost perfect. In order to have an idea of “very very good” renders, we can give them a video made by renders from the expert Alex Roman:

  2. 1. COMMENTS ABOUT ORAL PRESENTATION

Nerea does always quite well the presentation. She explains in a clear way the project so it is well understood.

    2. COMMENTS ABOUT THE PROJECT

I think that a general view of the project is missing. With a single view, the entire project would be understood much better.

In the other hand, the enterprises chosen are adequate, because you could have taken a lot of information of them.

I really get strange when you said you have curtain walls of that small high. There won´t neither be necessary a great machinery to clean it, in my opinion.

    3. COMMENTS ABOUT THE FAÇADE

I think that if your main idea is to make a great façade of glass, you have to stay fix with that idea. So, no one of your glass parts of the façade should be small.

An intermediate scale between general aspects of the façade and the details is missing. You also will have to take care with the connection between the façade and the interior partitions.

I´m not sure if the main idea was to have an entirely façade in glass, but in that case you should modulate the interior partitions to make them at the carpentry.

In that case, you can take as examples the interior partitions made by Mies Van der Rohe in Farnsworth house, which have not relevance with the joints on façade, so you can make a cleaner façade without any joints apart from those for the carpentry.
